Mark is a well known painter, illustrator and sculptor who has been working in Boston for over 25 years. Steele received a degree in Fine Arts from Boston University and has had numerous one man and group shows, as well as success in the field of illustration, creating work for numerous publications including the New York Times, Fortune, Harvard Magazine and others. He is also a teacher at the Art Institute of Boston. For years, Steele has worked in his Boston/Cambridge studios, creating commissioned artwork including personal drawings, paintings and sculpture, working primarily from his imagination. His linear based figurative style has a narrative quality inspired by some of his favorite artists who include: Daumier, Rembrandt, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Rodin and Thomas Rowlandson.
