Plume Rise refers to the height of the columns of smoke rising from the burning trees after combustion. These plumes of smoke can diminish the air quality hundreds of miles away from a wildfire. Several columns are created through the use of multiple layers of delicate washi (handmade Japanese tissue papers), representing the repetitive nature of the wildfire cycles, and flattened smokebush seedheads represent tree forms.
